Mike,
ventured in via your Been & Gone page from a search engine. very
interesting, especially seeing names & faces recognized. what
ever became of Mick Terry that played The Greys at least in '92,
'93, & '94 ? can you tell me anything about him? what kind of
music? still active? what age? intrigued due to just a slight
similarity in names & occupations. .... thanks Mick Terry - mickterry.com
Well,
he was (probably still is) local and played a chicago blues /
soul standards set - I think he used backing tracks - a thing
considered ok then! He's a nice chap, easy to work with, short(ish),
always came with all his equipment very tidy in a camper van,
and his girlfriend always helped to set-up and strike the gear.
He was a pretty nifty guitarist, white telecaster I seem to remember
and I'm pretty sure he's a left hander. He did have a larger act
- big soul/blues outfit - loads of players - called The Lightening
Brothers. He used to play for us before I had the bar extended
- having left hookers then was always an advantage - people could
pass the act and go to the toilets without having to duck! Funny
how much can be dredged up from what's left of my brain! ........
I've got it! You're forming a band called the Mick Terrys!..........
All the best - Mike
